The power of Visualization

Now I will be the first to tell you, I am no Tony Robbins. But I do believe in the power of visualization and manifestation. It isn’t so much the visualization itself as it is the focus of your energy on that specific want/desire. I think this helps us better understand what needs to be done in order to obtain that particular “thing.” I made a post earlier on Instagram talking about how I like to practice visualizing my golf shots and then trying to execute based on what I saw in my head. For me, I think about building a stance based on my environment and what I need the shot to do. My ability to manipulate and isolate these variables in the most efficient manner is what allows me to hit the best shot possible. The same holds true in business environments as it does sports fields.

It may be sacrifices that we have to make or it may be certain steps that we should take but in any event when we visualize, we conceptualize and that is where we can start turning intangible into tangible.

In workouts I practice this all the time and since I have picked up the game of Golf I have really been able to practice my ability to visualize and then execute. It truly is a powerful tool that can be applied across almost anything. In business environments we use blueprints or meetings to conceptualize and visualize plans in a different manner. In your own personal life you may use a vision board to attract your desires. There are many effective ways to practice visualizing success and then chasing it, the goal is to find what motivates you and use that to your advantage.

In this fast paced world it is so easy to be scatter brained and wander aimlessly throughout the day but I encourage you and challenge you to be intentional tomorrow and every day. With this intention, focus on visualizing what you really want from your job or sports team, when you have down time at night revisit that fantasy and think about what it would take from you to get there. Chances are your brain will have a course of action and then it is just a matter of if the sacrifices are worth it to you. Sure I make it sound easy but from my perspective often times the only thing holding people back from their wildest dreams are the opportunity itself and fear of failure/rejection.

I forget where I heard this but it is so true: “Rejection is just redirection.” But that is a topic for another day. Here is to hoping all of you are staying healthy and happy out there!
